look what I found Mr Kenny's bloggggg~



'I was amazed at the lack of basic skills for most of the students. [tehnology imbeciles -hackcough-] A lot of them really struggled with setting up a heading and writing the first paragraph. At first I was really worried because they didn't seem to be engaged or interested and appeared to be just working through the motions to complete the task I set. I was really taken back and felt quite low over lunch.

Sunday 26th October, 2008

Today I went through all the Wikis and most of the Blogs. I was really impressed by Gi who has sent a message to all the students commenting on their Wikis and also by Christie who is new to our school and obviously has valuable experience with blogging. [YEAH MAN! -dances jig-]

I have decided to post instructions in the forms of stages on their Wikis.

STAGE ONE.

These are the things you need to work through. When you have completed this to the expected level please let Mr Kenny know and he will update what you are working on:

  1. Make a heading for your Wiki. You may want to add a relevant picture.
  2. Make sure you have a link to your Blog. This needs to be clear
  3. Write an introduction to your Wiki. At least one paragraph that explains why you are passionate about your chosen topic.Use a heading.
  4. Start your collection of related media. Under an appropriate heading list a mix of videos, websites, news reports, blogs, wikis and other resources. Use hyperlinks to link from your wiki to these resources. Give an explanation of these resources to inform people who visit your site.
  5. Write an entry in your Blog everytime you work on your Wiki. Date it. Record any new learning, any questions, any concerns, any frustrations, any wonderings and any general comments you like.
